Pontypridd Golf Club Course

A well - wooded mountain course with springy turf. Good views of the Rhondda valleys and coast. During the summer the greens are quick, difficult and the course immaculately maintained and becomes a true test of golf for every standard of golfer.

Local Rules

Ditches
All ditches are water hazards. Rule 26-1 applies

Obstructions
Stones in sand bunkers are considered moveable objects. Rule 24-1 applies.

Out of bounds
When playing the 18th hole a ball lying to the right of the stakes bordering the 1st fairway, or outside the boundary of the course.

Man made structures
All constructed paths, winter tees, sprinkler heads, yardage markers, fixed benches are immovable obstructions Rule 24-2

Club Competitions
All club competitions and team matches have priority on the course. Two ball matches have precedence over 3 and 4 ball matches. A single player has no standing on the course and must give way. Matches on higher numbered holes have priority where fairways cross.

Etiquette
All players are expected to make themselves familiar with and apply section 1 of the Rules of Golf concerning etiquette.

Dress Code
Members must ensure their guests are appropriately dressed before playing. Vests, t-shirts, jeans, tracksuits, beach shorts, trainers or flip flops are not permitted on the course.

Staked Trees
Staked or specially marked trees are protected and relief without penalty must be taken. Rule 24-2

G.U.R.
In all areas marked G.U.R. a drop must be taken without penalty. Rule 25-1 or in the appropriate drop zone.

D.M.D's
The use of D.M.D's is permitted in social and tournament play.

Call up Hole
Hole 6 is a Call Up Hole. On reaching the putting surface the players should stand aside and invite the group behind to tee off.

Rocks
Relief may be taken from rocks in the fairway affecting players stance and swing.
